Fundamental Theory of Complex System

We study the basic properties and laws of non-equilibrium system and non-linear system and solve real problem in actual system, including transport phenomenon of non-equilibrium system, time-space order and chaotic dynamics of non-linear system, complex network, as well as function and control, etc.


Transport property of non-equilibrium system

The description methods and the specific properties of non-equilibrium system is a main research area of systems science. The relative achievements have been promoting the theoretical development of systems science and the application in specific system, such as biology and economy. We study the non-equilibrium stationary state of transport process, establish a theoretical framework for problems of non-equilibrium state and put forward as well as develop a series of efficient calculation method applying this theoretical framework.  


Complex systematic dynamics, space-time structure and critical behavior

Studying the systematic evolution with dynamical method is an important research approach of systems science. It is the qualitative changes in systematic evolution process, namely branching behavior, phase transformation behavior and the more general emergent phenomenon, that concern us most. Therefore, we mainly study the specific problems such as kinetic stability of helicon, time-space oscillation mode of excitable system on network and the critical dynamics of sandpile model, etc.


Complex network, function and control

Complex network is the basic approach to describe the interaction of complex system, so it can be used to describe various systems. Complex network can not only reflect the common property of systems but also study the properties of specific system. Therefore, we pay close attention to the empirical study of weighting network, community structure, evolutionary model and dynamics. We explore the significance, definition and researching methods of the network community structure. We study the empirical analysis, formation mechanism and dynamic process of the network with space structure. We develop the methods to reconstruct network with macro data and study the control of system dynamics based on network structure.
