As a research-oriented School devoted to academic development and scientific advance, School of Systems Science of BNU shoulders the missions of promoting basic and frontier scientific research of systems science, cultivating high-level personnel with comprehensive abilities and qualities, and transforming the academic advancement of systems science into power of social and economic development. We strive to develop our school to become the international top-level basis of Science of Complexity research and personnel training, leader of subject construction and development of domestic systems science, important platform of interdisciplinary scientific innovation. Through long-term accumulation and development, School of Systems Science of BNU has formed a system of cultivating personnel, from undergraduate students to post doctors, and we also have some advantageous and peculiar research directions, including theories and experiments of complexity systems, control and optimization of complex systems, complexity of social and economic system, biotic and ecologic complex system & system dynamics of brain and neural system, Multi-Agent system and evolutionary computation. Currently, we have doctoral degree authorization center of first-level disciplines, national key disciplines of systems theories, postdoctoral research center, three master degree programs of systems theories, systems analysis and integration and complex system modeling and monitoring. We are one of the most powerful teaching and research institution in the field of systems science among domestic colleges and universities.

     To further strengthen our discipline, School of Systems Science openly recruits teachers, post-doctors hired at the university level, researcher hired at the school level all over the year. Meanwhile, we welcome brilliant minds and leading personnel of relevant disciplines (such as the Nominees of “One Thousand Talents” or “Ten Thousand Talents”, the Yangtze River Scholar Professor, National Prominent Youth Science fund gainer, those who works in overseas colleges or universities with the title of associate professor and above, National Teaching and Research Award gainer and those who are in charge of national key programs). 

1.  Recruitment by discipline and field

1.1 Basic theories of systems science:

Statistical physics of equilibrium and non-equilibrium systems, complex network, nonlinear dynamics, etc. Those who have some knowledge of statistical physics are preferred;

1.2 Complexity of social and economic systems:

Game theory and relevant experiments, computational social science and economics, new economics theories, financial market, systems science and social management, etc. The candidates need to do social and economic system modelling and data analysis. Those who have solid knowledge basis of statistical physics and computer programming are preferred;

   1.3 Theoretical computation and simulation study of brain and neural system:

The studies of computational neural science in terms of cognitive functions such as learning, memorizing and decision-making and dynamic behaviors of neural network;

   1.4 Group behaviors of multi-agent systems:

Simulation, interactions of E-puck robots and experiments on their group behaviors, experiments of social biotic community and simulations, etc.

2.1 Positions for teaching and doing research

(1)    Top-notch personnel

       Field of natural science:

Nominees of “One Thousand Talents” or “Ten Thousand Talents”, “the Yangtze River Young Scholars” of Ministry of Education, gainers of National Prominent Youth Science fund are needed.

If you belong to one of those groups, and your age is under 40, you can apply for this position.

       Field of social science:

Nominees of “Ten Thousand Talents” or “the Yangtze River Young Scholars” of Ministry of Education are needed. If you belong to one of those groups, and your age is under 45, you can apply for this position.

(2)    Key personnel

       Field of natural science:

Level D1:

Gainer of top three national awards or the top of provincial first prize and second prize; leader of key projects of National Natural Science Foundation or equivalent projects; the first author or corresponding author of high-quality original research papers with at least 6 SCI-Q1 section journal articles; those who works in overseas famous colleges or universities with the title of assistant professor and above.

If you meet at least two of the preceding conditions, and you are under 40 with advanced professional and technical posts, please apply for this position.

        

   Level D2:

Leader of national scientific research projects or gainer of post-doctoral special subsidies; first author of high-level original research papers with at least 3 SCI-Q1 section journal articles; special talents on demand for our subjects and professions;     

If you meet at least two of the preceding conditions and you are under 35, and you have a doctor degree in an overseas famous university or college and overseas working experience (or post-doctoral experience), you are welcomed to apply.

       Field of social science:

Level D1:

Gainer of the second award (ranking first) of outstanding achievement award of scientific research in colleges or universities; leader of key projects of National Social Science Foundation; first author or corresponding author of high-level original research papers with at least 6 SSCI-Q1 section or B class journal articles; those who works in overseas famous colleges or universities with the title of assistant professor and above.

If you meet at least two of the preceding conditions and are under 45 with advanced professional and technical posts, please apply for this position.

 Level D2:

Leader of national scientific research projects or gainer of post-doctoral special subsidies; first author or corresponding author of high-level original research papers with at least three SSCI-Q1 section or B class journal articles; key personnel for building think tanks or special talents on demand for our subjects and professions;     

If you meet at least two of the preceding conditions and you are under 40, and you have a doctor degree in an overseas famous university or college and  overseas working experience (or post-doctoral experience), you are welcomed to apply.

Notice: the research articles and projects only within recent 5 years will be counted; research achievement will be sectionalized according to Journal Citation Reports recently published by ISI.  

(3)    Treatment

The treatment will be negotiated by university, school and employee according to relevant national policies and those of BNU.

2.2  Post-doctors

 

(1)    Personnel in need

The candidates should have gained a doctor degree in overseas top universities or college, guarantee they can work fulltime in school and their age should be under 35. They should have relatively high level scientific achievements in recent 5 years, and meet one of the two conditions:

  Leader of provincial scientific research projects with outstanding phased achievements;

  First author or corresponding author of high-level original research papers with at least one SCI-Q1 section paper in the field of natural science or at least one SSCI-Q1 section or B class journal articles in social science.

(2)    Treatment

       The admitted post-doctors will be included into the management system of national doctor committee and enjoy the treatment according to regulations of BNU on post-doctors. The annual salary will be 120,000 to 200,000 Yuan with rewards by school or university based on scientific research performance. Research fund will be subsidized by collaborative supervisor and school. The detailed salary will be negotiated by school, supervisor and the candidate. Chances will be given to excellent post-doctors for being promoted formally as a teacher and scientific researcher in the campus. 

(3)    Requirements during employment

     The term of employment normally will be 2 years (which can be prolonged with communal agreement). Apart from supporting the supervisor’s work, The admitted post-doctors should accomplish the following scientific research achievement:

       Leading one provincial scientific research project or post-doctoral research fund project;

       First author or corresponding author of high-level original research papers with at least one SCI-Q1 section paper among three SCI or EI papers in the field of natural science or at least one SSCI-Q1 section or B class journal article among three SSCI or A&HCI or Chinese core journal papers in social science. Beijing Normal University should be the first signed institution.

2.3  Research staff

(1)    Personnel in need

The candidates should have gained a doctor degree in overseas top universities or college with relatively high level scientific research achievement in recent 5 years. They should have published high level original research papers as the first author or corresponding author with at least one SCI journal articles or SSCI or B class papers. The candidates should guarantee full time work and their age should be under 35 in principle.

(2)    Treatment

The annual salary will be 120,000 to 180,000 Yuan with rewards by School or university based on scientific research performance. Research fund will be subsidized by School. The detailed salary will be negotiated by School, supervisor and the candidate. Chances will be given to excellent post-doctors for being promoted formally as a teacher and scientific researcher in the campus. 

(3)    Requirements during employment

The term of employment normally will be 1-2 years (which can be prolonged with outstanding performance). The required work of them is the same with post-doctors employed at the level of University. The employee should write at least 2 SCI or 1 SSCI journal article as the first author or corresponding author. Beijing Normal University should be the first signed institution.

3.  Recruiting Process

School of Systems Science recruits all kinds of high-level personnel all the year round. The review of application materials will be conducted intensely at regular intervals with no deadline.

(1)   The applicants should first send a CV, two or three representative papers (with explanation of the contributions they made) and also research plans through the email. The CV should include all the education background and working experiences, published academic papers, involved research projects, awards, etc.

(2)   After the primary selection, the candidates need to provide at least two names of recommender, and then our School will ask recommendation from them.

(3)   The candidates should come to our School to take job interview. Video interview is allowed in special situations.

(4)   We will present the list of candidates who work at the post of teaching or post-doctors at the level of university to Department of Personnel for review and approval.
