The Second Session of the First Council of Alumni Association
of the School of Systems Science Was Successfully Held
On the morning of September 13th, 2015, in the 100th anniversary of the establishment of Alumni Association of Beijing Normal University, the Second Session of the First Council of Alumni Association of the School of Systems Science of Beijing Normal University was held in Jingshi Academy. People that have attended the meeting included Di Zengru, dean of the School of Systems Science; Li Honggang, secretary of the School of Systems Science; Han Zhangang, vice dean of the School of Systems Science; members of the council; Li Xiaomeng, general secretary of Alumni Association of the School of Systems Science; teacher representatives, including Fan Ying, Chen Qinghua, Cui Xiaohua, Zeng An; alumni representatives of all sessions. This meeting was presided over by Secretary Li Honggang.
The propaganda film of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of Alumni Association of Beijing Normal University was first displayed at the meeting, which recalled people’ memories of campus and youth by reviewing successful history of Beijing Normal University during the 100 years and impressive events of how students of Beijing Normal University won honors for our motherland and the university.
Then, Dean Di Zengru then made a ebullient speech to welcome all the alumnus back to Beijing Normal University before the Mid-Autumn Festival. He reported the school’s achievements gained during the term of 2014-2015, in terms of discipline development and personnel cultivation, to all the alumnus. He fully affirmed the important role of alumni resources in strategic development of the school, and extended gratitude to the council of Alumni Association for contributions made in the past year. He called on alumnus, under the direction of the council, to strengthen contacts and to provide suggestions and make endeavors for the development of the school.
Secretary Li Honggang then reported all affairs of Alumni Association of the school in the past year to participating leaders, members of the council and alumni representatives. Since September, 2014, when Alumni Association of the school was established, it gained some achievements in organization development, information perfection and communication services, which was recognized by the university leaders, teachers and students of the school and many alumnus. Secretary Li Honggang emphasized that Alumni Association of the school should do well in serving alumnus, serving the school and serving teachers and students, absorb alumni resources to facilitate the school in discipline development, and also help alumnus with their career development by using superiority of the school.
This meeting received strong supports and positive responses from alumnus of all sessions. Some enthusiastic alumnus came back to attend the meeting from outside Beijing. At the meeting, people talked their recent development after graduation, extended their gratitude to the school and teachers therein for years’ cultivation and care, and proposed suggestions on issues of constructing omni-bearing multi-level organizational framework of Alumni Association of the school, establishing and amplifying interactive mechanism between the school and alumnus, and popularizing achievements of discipline development and brand of the school. Participating alumnus expressed one after another their expectations for the operation of Alumni Association of the school, and hoped that the school could set up a platform where get-together of 10th anniversary, 20th anniversary and 30th anniversary could be held, apart from the regular council, alumni forums, alumni lectures and internship recommendation. They also hoped that it could attract alumnus come back to the school by organizing industry fairs, recreational and sports competitions and family parties.
Ever since the establishment, Alumni Association of the School of Systems Science shoulders responsibilities of serving and unifying students of the School of Systems Science and of facilitating the school’s development. With mutual efforts of teachers and students of the whole school and alumnus of all sessions, Alumni Association of the school will make determined and persistent efforts to establish the common family of students of the School of Systems Science!
