Teachers and Cooperators closely related with the projects
I came from Beijing Normal University, where I benefitted from many teachers and directors. I ever had an idea of writing an essay about the characters and experience of some teachers when I was preparing my master thesis, but never finished it. Now I think, I will write down here by small and small. First, let me introduce teachers closely related with some of the projects listed on the home page.
As a supervisor when I studied Statistical Physics in Beijing Normal University, he leaded me into the physical and fundamental thinking of nature. Yang is not only a advisor in research works, also he effect me through his love in Physics and high character. Recently, I am still working under his direction on epidemic models on networks.
It's in his class the first time I feel the spirit of Math Model, which, I think, has the same spirit of Physics. He is a very very kind person and always keep himself considerate to students. In Chinese words, we say "good teacher, excellent friend". It's the liberal mind of Yang and Di that encouraging me to investigate as far as I can and to get the opportunity to work with anyone as I wish.
A chairman bravely employed a M.Sc. to teach the graduate students in his department, and even trust him to create a new course as Econophysics. Yes, I am the lucky man who made use of this chance. He has a fabulous mind full of ideas. Recently a project on Statistical Physics approach for firm size distribution from the group of Di and Wang just got support from China National Fund, hehe, of course, including me.
And also I want to use this place to give my thanks to Dr. Newman and Dr. Jennifer for their great help to share the data on scientific papers and food webs.
Teachers who I benefit greatly I will not list everyone here, but I promise I will add one by one occasionally when some memory and ideas come to me.
Yue'e Yi and Xueping Xu,
two of my teachers in elemental school, a small but sweet village school. Since the textbook is the only reference book we can buy, Miss Yi always use the same questions as our homework even keeping the same numbers. So eventually we remember the answers for all questions. The byproduct is that we even can write down the questions themselves, almost in exactly the same words. Therefor, from such training, we understand the value of the questions and the thought of the question makers. It's really a funny experience when you realize you can communicate with the question makers by their questions. Miss Xu is the first person giving me the trust, confidence, and the chance to give lectures independently to my classmates. Even since then I knew what I like to do in the future.
Every students like him although he teaches EM and QM, the most difficult courses. In his class, you can learn the real physics, physics thinking about process, physics ideas behind theorems and assumptions, even physics of cooking. His wide interest and penetrating insight greatly impressed me.
Some very very old friends and relatives whom I owned much to
I am a lucky guy. Although I grew up in families with material difficulties, but filled with happiness and spiritual wealth. And partially it is because that we have many good relatives and many many good friends.
To my girlfriend
The last part here, I wish to devote to my girlfriend, Qian Feng, a beautiful, understanding, and sweet-temper girl. Since I miss her everyday, I reserved this special place for her to upload new photos at anytime so that I can take a look at anytime and anyplace as I wish.
